"Syringa days" - Kraljevo / Maglič fortress

The event "Days of Syringa" is held every year in early May in the valley of the Ibar river, where the Serbian king Uros I in the 13th century, in honor and love of French princess and future queen of Serbia - Helen of Anjou, has planted syringe in the valley of the Ibar river to beautify cliffs and valley, so that future queen of Serbia can recall her native Provence.

 

The central event is realized by Serbo-French friendship society "Helen of Anjou" and Tourist organization of Kraljevo. It is held within the walls of the medieval city of Maglič, and has cultural and artistic character.

DAY 1

 

Arrival of passengers to the airport Nikola Tesla in Belgrade.

 

Accommodation at Life Design hotel (4 *)

 

Sightseeing tour of Belgrade with a professional guide.

 

Optional lunch at the restaurant "Manjež".

 

Visit to the St. Sava temple, the second largest Orthodox Church in the world - tour of the historic center of Belgrade - visit to the museums of your choice: National Museum; Ethnographic Museum; Gallery of Frescoes; Princess Ljubica Museum; Nikola Tesla Museum; Museum of history of Yugoslavia; Walking tour through the Belgrade fortress – Kalemegdan.

DAY 2

 

Breakfast.

 

Departure to the most famous Serbian spa - Vrnjačka Banja with stop at Oplenac. Visit to the mausoleum of the last Serbian dynasty Karadjordjevic. Visit to the local winery Aleksandrović. Wine tasting.

 

The journey continues towards Vrnjačkoj Banja. Check-in Vrnjačka Banja and hotel accommodation.

 

Optional lunch at the restaurant Three doves.

 

Sightseeing tour of Vrnjačka Banja. Visit to the "Castle of culture".

Use of spa wellness services.

DAY 3

 

Breakfast.

 

Departure to city of Kraljevo.

 

Participation in the "Days of Syringa" manifestation.

 

Start of the event on the main square in Kraljevo.

 

Visit to the endowment of King Uros I in Sopoćani monastery, then to the Gradac monastery, nunnery and the endowment of Helen of Anjou.

 

To complete the event it is scheduled theatrical and music program in the medieval town and fortress Maglič.

 

Optional lunch at the event.

 

Visit to the Studenica monastery with professional guidance.

 

Visiting the Žiča monastery with professional guidance.

 

Return to Vrnjačka Banja.
