Day 1 – NIŠ

 

Arrival of travelers to city of Niš, hometown of Constantine the Great, founder of Constantinople/Istanbul.

 

Sightseeing tour. Visit to the fortress of Niš, city mosque, “Skull tower” monument from Serbian-Turkish war, and finally “Mediana” archeological site from the late Roman period where you can visit remains of the luxurious residence palace of Constantine the Great.

 

 

Day 2 - NIŠ – KNJAŽEVAC – RAJAČKE CELLARS – KLADOVO

 

Breakfast.

 

Departure to Knjaževac area.

 

The visit to "Roman Treasury" in town of Knjaževac, (the best period for visit is during the fair  of prosciutto, wine and cheese), degustation of wine ... Visit to the archaeological site "Timocum Minus", the place where it was stationed Roman garrison in ancient times. Visit to the winery "Urošević," degustation of wine... Trip to the Negotin and to Rajačke cellars (the best period for visit is during the wine harvest). A tour through the village famous for its authentic and rustic wine cellars and tasting of wines and Serbian rakias. 

 

Journey continues to Kladovo.

 

Day 3 - KLADOVO

 

Interesting and fun excursions by boat on the broad river Danube, you can see a part of history, not only local, but the history of entire human civilization back from prehistoric periods. We will visit on this boat trip fortress of Fetislam, Ada Kale and the remains of Trajan's bridge from the Roman period, one of the biggest in antique times and in entire Roman Empire.

 

Bus trips: a lock of ships and hydro power plant "Đerdap“ excursions.

 

Picnic on the Danube banks: we take you to a picnic in Vajuga, a picturesque village on the banks of the Danube! Fish soup and stew made by special recipe - in tinned copper boilers, served in an authentic earthen vessels. While cruising on a boat on the Danube River, the famous fisherman Čeda will give you instructions for fishing, and after a good fishing he will cheer up you by his accordion with famous Korbovski wins.

 

Optional: free time in the hotel (pool, spa ...) in Kladovo or walking along the Danube.

 

Day 4 - KLADOVO – BELGRADE

 

Breakfast.

 

Departure for Belgrade.

 

Arrival in Belgrade, accommodation and lunch. Free time. Optional visit to Bajrakli mosque and Ottoman monuments of cultural heritage in Kalemegdan fortress. Optional: panoramic tour of the city; visits to museums (Ethnographic, Nikola Tesla Museum, and Museum May 25 – Yugoslav president Tito’s mausoleum); Serbian rakia tour in pubs of Belgrade and dinner.

 

Free time.

 

Day 5 - BELGRADE

 

Breakfast.

 

Departure of passengers.
